As human beings, for the importance of a fulfilling life, enrichment and catharsis are essential. To make my existence important, I make art that will ultimately be appreciated only for a limited time, as is my existence. Enrichment engages your brain and helps you to express your emotions, allowing you to truly understand how you feel inside. This is how I utilize art to bring meaning to my own life. Though sometimes chaotic and winding, art can help us get a fresh perspective on the intricacies and fragility of life. In times of struggle, I remind myself of the ultimate simplicity of my existence. No matter the strife, my life will return to the beautiful earth that inspires me. To cope with this concept, nature must be intermingled with the mind, soul, and medium to view this simplicity in a positive and inspiring way, rather than a fearful way. Humanity is ultimately interconnected with the water, air, and soil beneath us. I represent this relationship with my free-flowing designs, artistic nature depictions, and repetitive patterns, presenting a sense of detail and wonder. The infancy of my artistic experience began with pencil sketching and watercolor painting, later expanding those artistic ventures into acrylic painting and ceramics. My work utilizes stark contrast, vivid colors, and bold lines to complement the subject matter. Visceral portrayals of emotion can be found in my work, sometimes requiring subjects and pattern work that can create overwhelmingly stimulating worlds in my creations. I’m making art inspired by the human experience and how it might coincide with the freedom and relentlessness of nature. Sometimes it is hard to conceptualize human existence and fully understand things like the afterlife. My goal in my art is to help myself simplify and appreciate my existence to where I can understand and accept that one day I will simply return to nature. The human condition is magnificent and resilient. My art portrays this in both overt and covert ways. Life is fleeting, but nature will always persevere and overcome. That deserves to be artistically portrayed, even if one day that art might be lost in time
