"Amanita Muscaria" by Charlotte Coven

Mushroom Incense Burner, created in Ceramics 1; Works with backflow incense cones. A 3-piece sculpture that I hand built from White Stoneware clay using pinch and coil methods.

The mushroom cap was glazed with Mayco’s Jungle Jem Crystal Glaze “Ladybug”, as well as a white glaze for the sculpted spots. I felt that a spotty glaze like “Ladybug” would mimic the spotty nature fungus in general. This mushroom incense diffuser was meant to be a cartoonish representation of amanita muscaria mushrooms, one of my favorite types of mushrooms to depict in my art.
